How to Set Up the GigaSpire Blast Device

The Calix GigaSpire Blast is a high-performance modem designed to provide reliable and fast internet connectivity. Setting it up is quick and easy. Just follow the steps below to get started.

Initial Setup

Step 1: Unbox the Device

  • Remove the GigaSpire Blast device from the box
  • Ensure you have the power adapter and necessary cables

Step 2: Connect the Device

For NBN (Except FTTN) Services:

  1. Connect the WAN Port: Plug the WAN port on the GigaSpire Blast device into your internet source (e.g., NBN NTD)
  2. Power Up:
    • Plug the device into a power outlet
    • Turn the device on

For Fixed Wireless Services:

  1. Connect the WAN Port: Plug the WAN port on the GigaSpire Blast device into your internet source (e.g., POE injector for Fixed Wireless)
  2. Power Up:
    • Plug the device into a power outlet
    • Turn the device on

Step 3: Wait for Initialization

  • Allow the device to initialize. This process may take a few minutes
  • The device will automatically connect to the internet once initialization is complete

Connecting to Wi-Fi

Find Your Wi-Fi Credentials

Locate the Sticker: Find the default Wi-Fi network name (SSID) and password (WPA Key) on a sticker at the bottom of the GigaSpire Blast device.

Tip: You can change these credentials later for security purposes through the device settings.

 

Connect Your Devices

  1. Access Wi-Fi Settings: On your computer, smartphone, or tablet, navigate to the Wi-Fi settings
  2. Select the Network: Choose the Wi-Fi network name (SSID) that matches the one on your device's sticker
  3. Enter the Password: Input the Wi-Fi password from the sticker to establish a connection
